The best emails will come off as personal 1-to-1 messages that follow the A.I.D.A. principle

A. Attention

I. Interest

D. Desire

A. Action

How do you grab Attention?

Think of your subject line as a headline on a  sales page. Your subject line needs to get someone to stop scrolling through their inbox and open up the message. Make it attention grabbing!

I’ll give you an example. In the email where you asked me this question the subject line was: “(personal) video thank you” I’m willing to bet that subject line was a lot different than any of the other messages you received and you knew immediately that it was a personal message.

In the body of your email you need to generate Interest.

How do you make someone interested?

In the body of that same email I personally thank you for investing in a training program of mine and then I gave you a link to a private video that I recorded for you. That personal touch is a little bit time consuming but worth it in the long haul, nobody else does that for people who just bought a product under $10.

Next in your email you need to create Desire

How do you create desire?

This is the part of the email where you can talk up whatever you are promoting. Let me show you another example. I just sent out an email this morning and in the body it says:

Niche Marketing Kit Festive Special

This is a truly AWESOME offer, packed with over
$10,000 worth of Super Top Quality Products
reduced from $497 to just $47!

John Thornhill and Dave Nicholson are the real deal
in fact they are are SUPER AFFILIATES and they
have sold over 500 copies of just my products!

I know you will learn something from this and it gets
my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION

I create desire in that message by telling you that you can trade just $47 and get over $10K worth of training from marketing experts who really know their stuff because I go on to tell you how they have sold over 500 copies of just MY PRODUCTS.

Then you need to get them to take ACTION

How do you get someone to take Action?

You need to give them a link and a reason to click on it. This email is unique because I’m promoting 2 different offers.

The main offer I’m promoting is Niche Marketing Festive Special that John and Dave have put out. I tell you why you need it, that it’s a special offer and that it gets my highest recommendation. The only main improvement I can see in this body is to go in more depth on how limited time of a deal this is.

HOWEVER in the P.S. I talk about my friend Sean Mize and his Christmas special that he has going on and that his product was named WSO of the Day and the price is rapidly increasing so that will get a lot of people off the fence and start buying.

Take what you’ve learned and what you see others do and put your own flair on it. There are people who will follow you just because of the stories your share. In my Christmas email, I mentioned that I had opened presents at 5 different places. That is memorable and I got people  to reply back and talk to me about how tired I must have been going to see all those relatives.

In a nutshell you need to write your emails in a conversational tone, and make it follow the A.I.D.A. principles (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action). Are my emails perfect? Far from it and in fact there’s a lot of room for improvement BUT they still work and drive sales for me.
