Many individuals misconceive that only a few are able to unleash their creative genius, this is not true by any means. In fact creativity is a muscle of sorts, in that is needs exercise to grow and bring results. Practicing, unleashes creative genius. Atrophy sets in and can lead to nonexistence when it is not exercised. Skills will thrive and grow when you keep working at it.
How do you unleash your own creative genius? Interestingly enough, you will become a human vampire. No, we do not mean a blood sucking fiend, we mean that you should consume as much knowledge and learning as possible. Open your mind to the endless possibilities, whether good or bad. Read everything, since the more you understand, the more you will want to understand. Your skills of creative genius will grow as you exercise it. Each of these tidbits of interesting facts, add a bit more color to your life.
Daily, you should focus on some creative activity, even if it is an effort. For instance, doodling is a creativity. Never let anything hinder you. Mindlessness, is not a creativity for those individuals who are beginning to unleash the creative genius in their lives. It is always inspiring to have solid evidence, rather than simply thinking you are getting somewhere.
Try It Yourself
Practice, whatever it is that interests you, whether drawing for a few moments, taking photos like a mad person. On the other hand, writing is practiced by keeping journals or writing letters and stories. When you write, describe things with your six senses, while avoiding vague adjectives such as delicious, marvelous and so on.
You will build up a nice portfolio, while amazing yourself at your own undertaking of growth, after accumulating all your works of art. Everyday your talent and skills will grow. Then before you know it, things become a part of you and you are addicted to these intriguing creative activities.
You can think out of the box or not. Keeping in mind that constraints can be a good thing. We are disciplined by our limits to work within our means. It teaches us to be resourceful. Remember, creative genius is exceptional, however, limitations enforce discipline.
Broaden your daily perspective by experiencing something new. Explore your neighborhood and beyond. Initiate a conversation with someone on the bus or spend the evening in a museum you have never seen. Open yourself up to others. As you daily leave your comfort zone, your life will be more exciting as your adventures grow.
Think about it.
If it has been a long while since you have tried something new, you are truly missing out on a multitude of experiences that can add to your growth, spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally. Try something like skiing or dancing if your never have. You will not only be learning, you will also be building a wealth of stories for sharing. This enables you to practice storytelling, while making you the life of the party.
Embrace Your Madness
Not to the point of admitting yourself into a mental hospital, of course. John Russell once exclaimed, ‘Sanity calm, but madness is more interesting.’
This is it exactly, creative genius is considered insanity by so called normal individuals from time to time. Fortunately, this does not stop creative geniuses. The interesting thing is, that generally, being sane or normal limits the thinking process.
Creativity enables us to break through barriers. It may sound strange. However, this does not mean that you should develop a creative personality, it may backfire. For instance, George Washington, often wore the emperors clothing into battle or James Joyce’s Dubliners was written in beetle juice, since he had an extreme fear of ink. On the other hand, Albert Einstein, considered that his cat was a double agent of his archenemy. The important thing is to not become detached from reality completely, while expressing your creativity.
Begin thinking beyond your limits, while considering these tidbits of information. Soon you will be living the life of your dreams, full of growing adventures. You will fill brilliant when you unleash your creative genius.
I hope this article has inspired you to start thinking beyond your “limits.” If you follow these steps pretty soon you’ll be living a life full of interesting adventures. Unleashing your creative thinking will bring about a new zest for living life.

January 4, 2009I decided to re-read Osho’s book “Creativity” this week. In it, he explains why conventional thinking and habits prevent each of us from becoming the full human being that we were created to be.
When we “get out of the way”, or practice being conscious in each moment, we truly come alive. Then, no matter what we are doing, or not doing, we will be fully present. It is amazing what you can see, hear, feel when you are truly “awake!”
This is his definition of creativity…being fully alive in each moment…not thinking habitual thoughts or doing habitual things.
Easier said than done, but well worth the experiment. Meditation is one of the easiest ways to begin this journey.

For me, I try to write something every day. Whether it’s a blog post, or an ezine article. It definitely gets easier with practice.
I have to commend my mother who, at the age of 78, decided to take up painting and has painted some absolutely stunning landscapes. She had never picked up a brush before. This illustrates another important point — you are never too old to develop your creativity!

It goes beyond the positive or possibility thinking stage to an active doing stage. I was told by a college administrator that I’d never graduate from college. I said nothing in response, but my mind said “Oh, really? We’ll see!”
It took seven more years, but I graduated from university AND completed two-and-a-half years of graduate level work.

January 19, 2009I really agree with the idea of “exercising your creativity.”
It truly is the way creative people get their juices flowing.
One thing that I do for creativity is I will sit down and come up with 10 biz ideas. I write them down and then weed out later but I do rapid fire product or biz model thinking. It usually gets me hyped for the day and then I’m ready to produce what I need to do.
I think that sometimes people need to get reconnect with their youth. The older people get the more they substitute “experience” for “creativity.” I’ve learned more from failing than succeeding and the first leads to much more of the latter. Get out there and try new things with no expectation of gain. That’s when the magic happens.
